Let Christ in you spill over into what’s around you

2 Corinthians 4:15-18 (NLT)  All of this is for your benefit. And as God’s grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory. 16 That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. 17 For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! 18 So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.

John 16:33 (NLT)I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.

Paul wrote the words of 2 Corinthians 4. He called his circumstances, situations and troubles “small” the KJV says “light afflictions”. How could Paul call beatings, lashings, stoning and false imprisonment  LIGHT AFFLICTIONS?! He understood what Steven, Job, Abraham, Shadrach Meshach and Abednego understood. He knew what was IN him was more important than what’s AROUND him. Every person, everyday, in every way  is choosing to live to be at peace with what’s around us or with WHO lives IN us. We are choosing to either allow Christ in us to spill into the world around us or to allow the world around us to spill into us.

-What’s around us is temporary. Christ in us in eternal and victorious.

I pray that the storm your facing would subside. BUT IF IT DOESN’T I pray that you would know that in this life filled with troubles you have the hope of Glory that is in you. Not only is he in you he wants to give you peace in the storm and be a conduit of peace to others.

-Don’t let what around you still INTO you. Let what’s in you spill over into what’s AROUND YOU.
